Meet The Doctors

  • Carl R. Liebhart
    DDS

    Carl Liebhart DDS, joined Dr. Kent Johnson and Smile Dental in July 2011. He earned his Doctor
    of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he developed a strong foundation in comprehensive, patient-centered care.

    Prior to dental school, Dr. Liebhart graduated with honors from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2006, earning a degree in Microbiology while actively
    participating in cell biology research. He remains committed to lifelong learning through continuing education to ensure his patients receive the
    highest standard of care.

    Born and raised in northeast Missouri, Dr. Liebhart graduated from Kirksville High School and has deep roots in rural Missouri. He has lived in Moberly for over
    15 years and currently enjoys country living just outside of town with his wife, Natasha, and their two sons, CJ and Thomas.

    Outside of dentistry, Dr. Liebhart enjoys agriculture and the outdoors, spending his free time hunting, fishing, and working on his family farm in rural Macon County

  • Troy Hutinger
    DDS

    Dr. Hutinger grew up in Sedalia, Missouri. He completed his undergraduate degree at Mizzou before attending dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Hutinger was hand-selected by faculty to participate in the Honors Oral Surgery Program and graduated with honors in 2013. Following dental school, Dr. Hutinger completed a multi-disciplinary hospital residency at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. Through the residency, he gained extensive experience in advanced surgical and restorative techniques in, oral surgery, dental implants, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatrics.

    Dr. Hutinger is active in the dental community and is committed to staying current on the latest advancements in dentistry. He is an avid participant in continuing dental education and an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the Missouri Dental Association. Dr. Hutinger strives to provide the most advanced dental care to patients of all ages in a gentle and compassionate manner.

    Prior to joining Dr. Lawson, Dr. Hutinger spent the last three and a half years providing dental care in the communities of Jefferson City and California, MO. During this time, he performed full mouth rehabilitation to children, and individuals with developmental disabilities in the hospital setting. Outside of the profession, Dr. Hutinger is an avid fan of Mizzou sports, Kansas City Chiefs, and St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoys playing golf, spending time at the lake and riding his bike. He and his wife Krissy “Koehly”, originally from Moberly, are extremely excited to have settled back home in Mid-Missouri and look forward to becoming involved in the community. 

Our Dental Hygienist's

  • Nicole Roth
    RDH

    Nicole joined the the team at Smile Dental in 2009. She is dedicated to teaching and helping patients obtain the best oral health and hygiene. Her goal as a Dental Hygienist is to promote good oral health by instructing patients on proper home care and diet. Working alongside Dr. Johnson, Dr Liebhart, Dr. Hutinger and the team at Smile Dental, Nicole helps patients maintain clean, healthy smiles. She enjoys getting to know each patient personally and implementing a care plan for them. Nicole has a wonderful gentle touch and strives to make every patient as comfortable as possible during necessary care. Nicole attends continuing education courses required by the Missouri State Dental Board each year to keep up with current practices and the latest technology.

    Nicole was raised in Shelbina, MO and graduated from South Shelby High School in 2003. She is married to Andy, who is a teacher and coach at South Shelby Middle School. Andy and Nicole have one son, Miles and one daughter, Tenley. Nicole enjoys spending time with family, being a mom, and attending basketball and football games.

  • Sarah Asbury
    RDH

    Sarah joined the Smile Dental team in February, 2012. Her goal as a hygienist is to ensure her patients have all the knowledge available to keep their smile healthy for a lifetime. She enjoys working in a partnership with her patients to promote good oral health.

    Sarah was raised in Salisbury and graduated from Salisbury High School in 2003. She is married to Clint who is an Assistant Control Room Operator at Thomas Hill Power Plant. They have two sons and a yellow Labrador. She enjoys spending time with her family, going camping, and being on the lake.

  • Hannah Johannaber
    RDH

    Hannah joined the team at Smile dental in 2017. Hannah provides patient centered care for each person that walks into her operatory. She strives to educate her patients about oral disease prevention and treatment. 'I want my patients to feel validated in their concerns about dental treatment and comfortable enough to express any questions they may have'.

    Hannah grew up in Centralia, MO and graduated from Centralia High School in 2014. She is married to Wren, who is an agricultural pilot and owns a general aviation maintenance shop in Moberly. Hannah and Wren have 2 daughters and a son. Hannah enjoys chasing around her busy children, spending time at the lake, and going on flying adventures with her little family.

  • Lilly Korte
    RDH

    Lilly joined the team at Smile
    Dental in 2025.  She is excited to get to know and treat her patients with the best quality care alongside Dr. Liebhart, Dr. Hutinger, and the rest of the Smile
    Dental Team. Lilly strives at giving her patients a safe and comfortable experience while helping them keep a clean and healthy smile. She attends
    continuing education courses required by the Missouri State Dental Board each year to keep up current practices and the latest technology.

    Lilly was raised and still resides in Glasgow, MO with her husband Luke and two daughters Eva and
    Ellie.  When she is not in the office, Lilly enjoys time with her family, being in the garden, hunting, and sewing.
